"First, locate the 24C02 EEPROM chip. In the Dell Latitute CPx model, it is located on the underside of the motherboard. By removing the keyboard, look to the left just below the PCMCIA Slot you will see a 2 Pin jumper labeled JBOOT. The 24C02 chip is located underneath this jumper. To access it you have to remove the motherboard. Reading the 24C02 chip upright, you need to short two pins. These two pins are at the top of the chip. From right to left it is the first and third pins. While shorting these two pins power on the laptop. This can be done while the motherboard is out of the case. Just connect a monitor to the motherboard and plug the power supply into the motherboard and push the power button. Once the laptop has booted, the password message should be gone and a message should appear to push Function and 'X' keys. Once this message appears you can now unplug the power and reassemble your laptop. You should now be able to modify ALL bios settings"
