2010 Saleen 435S Mustang Revealed Last week, Saleen Performance Vehicles launched it's latest Mustang, the Saleen 435S. Remember, Saleen Performance Vehicles should not be confused with SMS Supercars. The latter is owned and run by Steve Saleen whereas Saleen Performance Vehicles is owned by MJ Acquisitions. In fact, SMS and Steve Saleen filed a lawsuit against MJ Acquisitions for using his name. All drama aside, here's the specs of the 2010 Saleen 435S Mustang.

The Saleen 435S Mustang is equipped with a Saleen Series VI twin-screw supercharger attached to a 4.6 liter V8, producing 435 horsepower and 425 ft/lbs of torque. Power is transfered to the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission and 3.73:1 gears. As Mike Shields, the new Saleen Performance Vehicles CEO states, the company wanted to "deliver a lot at an affordable price."

In addition to the engine, the Saleen 435S boasts a sport-tuned suspension and optional 14 inch brakes slotted and cross-drilled rotors inside 18 inch alloy wheels. Optionally, an "Aero Package" is available that features front chin and rear spoilers.

SMS Saleen Releases Anniversary 2010 SMS 460 and 460X Mustangs 2009 (or model year 2010) marks two anniversaries in the Mustang world. First and foremost, the 45th anniversary of the Ford Mustang and second, the 25th anniversary of Saleen. To mark such an occasion, the latest Saleen Mustang could be nothing short of spectacular, and they delivered.

Following the extinction of the company that bears his name, Steve Saleen started SMS. As this year marks a brand new body style (well, sort of) for the Mustang, SMS stepped up to the plate to release their 2010 SMS 460 and 460X Mustangs.

For the SMS 460, 470 horsepower and 427 lb/ft of torque come standard via the naturally aspirated 4.6 liter V8. As for the 460X, SMS' new SMS 296 Supercharger helps the Ford V8 pump out 655 horsepower and 600 lb/ft of torque. A 5 speed manual or 5 speed automatic transmission will be available for the 460 and a 6-speed manual transmission will come standard on the 460X.

The front fascia treatment, the SMS Red Butterfly Air Induction HoodTM, the front and side splitters, the rear fascia and diffuser with the high down- force rear wing showed the way Steve Saleen is looking at Mustangs today. "You have to go with the times. While the Mustang remains an icon, Ford has done a very good job with the 2010 model. I wanted to interpret it using my signature to create the latest Steve Saleen
version of this American favorite."
The SMS 460 Mustang offers a 4.6 liter V8 engine featuring a minimum 470 hp and 427 ft-lb
of torque, while the even more powerful SMS 460X Mustang engine with all new internal and
headwork delivers 655 hp and 600 ft-lb out of the enlarged 5.0 liter V8. Both use the new
(patent pending) SMS 296 Supercharger presented last week at the New York International
Auto Show. Transmission options are a 5-speed automatic or 5-speed manual on the 460 or
a 6-speed SMST manual on the top of the line 460X.
Performance for both cars is expectedly striking. The 460 Mustang accelerates from 0 to 60
in the low 4 seconds, while the 460X manages the same in the lower 4's. In addition to
engine output, handling, roadholding and braking play an equally important role. The 2010
SMS 460 Mustangs feature Steve's signature Watt's linkage suspension with all-new
geometry. New SMS brakes front and rear deliver impressive stopping power to match the
jaw-dropping performance.
The interior with all-new Alcantara and leather SMS performance seats features the patented
Signature Series chevron stripes. Dash and interior panels are covered in hand-stitched
high-quality leather. Multiple seat chevron and SMS unique exterior colors are available.

2009 Saleen Dark Horse Mustang Saleen is at again. After the 25th Anniversary Sterling Signature Edition and S5S Raptor debuted this year, now comes the 620 horsepower Dark Horse. Look for a very limited production run of 25 cars due on sale in November.

2010 Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang Coupe & Convertible Revealed w/ 50+ Photos Early last month we saw the first sneak peek of the 2010 Shelby GT500 thanks to spy shots taken by Jalopnik. Today, the 2010 Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang has been officially revealed, and with it, over 50 photos of the coupe and convertible incarnations.

The most notable improvement for 2010 is the fact that the Mustang has undergone a face lift. For the Shelby specifically, the new GT500 will have more power in addition to it's new body style. Thanks to an improvement in airflow, the 2010 GT500 boasts 540 HP and 510 lb-ft of torque.

Look for the 2010 Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang to hit showrooms in the spring of 2009.

McLaren MP4-12C Revealed - Full Specs and Photo Gallery It's been a long time since the automotive world has been excited about a new McLaren (nearly 17 years to be exact). As that may be an eternity by supercar standards, the latest from McLaren is everything I could have imagined when I first heard rumors of the P11 prototype. This, is the McLaren MP4-12C. Yes, more numbers and letters than it's older F1 sibling, but who needs a catchy name when you look like this.

At first glance, it's easy to tell the MP4-12C carries the McLaren name. The overall body shape takes many cues from the F1, most notably, the deeply sloped hood for maximum visibility. Unlike the F1 though, the MP4-12C fits into the supercar territory inline with cars such as the Ferrari 458 Italia and Lamborghini Gallardo, rather than an Enzo or Veyron.

This is the first McLaren to be designed and built entirely in-house in Woking, England. There are no shared parts here. That includes the MP4-12C's V8 engine which is a McLaren original, unlike the BMW V12 found in the F1.

Under the hood, the MP4-12C carries a 600 horsepower, twin-turbo, 3.8 liter V8 producing 433 lb/ft of torque. That much power and torque, matched to the svelt curb weight should be enough for a low 3 second 0-60 mph time and top speed of 200 mph or more.

2010 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Revealed Just short of it's official debut at next week's New York Auto Show, the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG has been revealed. As the 2010 Mercedes E-Class is an all-new car, so is it's AMG-powered big brother. That means more power and more performance.

Under the hood of the 2010 E63 you'll find AMG's 6.2 liter V8, producing 518 horsepower and 465 lb/ft of torque (same as the much larger S63); which is enough to give the E63 a 186 mph top speed. Power is put to the wheels via Mercedes' all new, 7-speed, dual-clutch Speedshift transmission. The new transmission allows the 2010 E63 to be 12% more fuel-efficient than it's 2009 counterpart. As always, in addition to the added power and performance, all the usual AMG luxuries are present, including 18-inch standard and 19-inch optional allow AMG wheels.

Frankfurt 2009: Brabus E V12 Black Baron Makes World Debut The 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show is not just an arena for the mainstream automakers to show off their latest models. Tuning houses also have come to Frankfurt, ready to show the world their goods. One such tuner is Brabus, who arrived to the IAA with their Mercedes-based E V12 "Black Baron." The best way I can describe this car is - If Darth Vader had a car, this would be it.

Based upon the all-new 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the Brabus E V12 features a 6.3-liter V12 producing 800 horsepower and an electronically-limited 811 lb/ft of torque (the engine can actually produce 1,047 lb/ft). At first glance, you know this car is built for one thing, and one thing only - speed.

Thanks to a new ram-air system, quad-exhaust, revised ECU and improved aerodynamics, the Black Baron boasts a 0-62 mph time of 3.7 seconds, 0-124 mph in 9.9 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 217 mph.

Production of the Brabus E V12 Black Baron will be limited to only 10 units and carry a price of $875,000.
